How To Manually Install SummerBoard for 1.1.2

iPhone & iPod Touch 4 Comments »

Lately the official source for SummerBoard (old) for 1.1.2 has been down for quite a while. When I got my new iPod Touch, I couldn’t install it with the Installer app, and later found out it was because the package download itself was down due to exceeded bandwidth.

So I’ve uploaded the package here for anyone that needs it:

I’m aware that the thumbnail images in my older posts have been broken for a few days now. I’m trying to get help from the creator of the software (NextGen Gallery) to get it fixed.

Biodraft ported to CycloDS Evo

I finally got around to porting the Biodraft skin to CycloDS Evo, as requested by .::5pYd3r::..

I’m finding that I don’t like skinning on Cyclo as much as R4 though. Having active/inactive icons is nice, but the color config (xml) needs more options and you’re always stuck with the same background for every menu screen. For example, I’d like to be able to make a lighter/darker background just for the game list so that the text on unselected items is more readable. And it’d be nice if you could specify text color of selected/unselected items in the config menu, rather than having the same color for both.

NDSthemes Sucks

I’m fucking sick of having to wait hours for NDSthemes to approve my themes when all I’ve done is made a small change to the color. So I’ve decided to stop relying on them and go back to using my own site to host them.

So, it’s been a month since my last blog post. As I said before, I will start doing this every month. But this time I’m gonna trim some fat and rip off Indiana Jone’s movie titles and logos for special effect.

The domain for the Sanctuary website expired 5 days ago. I will not be renewing it. The forums weren’t active enough to warrant keeping them up on a subdomain either.

Ranting/Venting About Games I’ve Recently Played

Games No Comments »

Where I live, there’s not a whole lot of gamers. It’s a tiny town on the Texas/Mexico border that’s pretty far behind in terms of technology.
There are high school students that are gamers, but most of them hate me because one of the duties of my position is to make sure they can’t access their MySpaces, Facebooks, YouTubes, and such at school. I controls the filter. I controls their interweb.
Then there’s one friend I have that’s a gamer, but he’s always “too busy” to play games lately. And if I try to talk to him about a new game, he doesn’t really seem to give a shit. Don’t buy consoles, get them modded, then download roms and isos 24/7 if you’re not going to play them.
And the rest of my friends are 10-20 years older than me and not into games (except for Rock Band). And they have kids that play games, but they’re the kids that play Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon based games. “Mass Effect? But, that’s the porno game!”

So this leaves me with pretty much no one locally to talk games with. Which is frustrating when I feel like talking about how awesome a game is, but can’t find people to talk about with it. And normally I wouldn’t post it online (unless someone asks for opinions), because my thoughts are usually “Random people online aren’t going to give a shit about what I think”.
But I’m sick of just holding it in, so I’m going to post anyway. Read it or don’t. I don’t care.

The day after last Christmas I finally bought myself a 360, about 8 games (listed below), and various accessories. It arrived in the main early January, so as you can imagine, I’ve spent a great deal of the past month playing the 360. Here’s what I played and my thoughts on them.
Note: This 360 is the first system in a while that I’m not pirating on. Mainly because I don’t want to get banned from XBL.

Steve-O Tattoo for GTA San Andreas

Downloads 5 Comments »

I was digging through old crap today and found my old tattoo mod for GTASA (PC). It replaces one of the back tattoos with Steve-O’s “Yea dude! I rock!” tattoo. Install instructions are included in the readme found in the zip file.

Mac OS X Icon Pack for AppleCor (3.71 M33-2)

Downloads, PSP 4 Comments »

I finally found a version of AppleCor that works on the Slim a few months ago and decided to try it out after hearing about how good it is. I found that I liked the theme’s layout, but not the iPhone-like icons. So I created my own icons to take their place.
Most of these icons are ripped directly from Mac OS X. It also comes with an icon for the TV-Out icon on the Slim (the original AppleCor does not have it).

Download:

Download: Mac OS X Icon Pack for AppleCor 3.71 M33-2  Mac OS X Icon Pack for AppleCor 3.71 M33-2 (170.8 KiB, 748 hits)

This pack requires AppleCor and CXMB. For installation instructions see:
How to Install AppleCor for 3.71 M33-2
After AppleCor and CXMB is installed, simply copy the files from the zip to ms0:/cxmb/vsh/resource/, overwriting the existing files.

I would have taken more screenshots, but the screenshot plugin doesn’t work very well and tends to leave out layers of the XMB interface.
